DesignBitNet is the data controller for personal information collected on this website. Our registered studio sits at 40 Rue Mathurin Régnier, 75015 Paris, France, and privacy requests are answered at [email protected] within thirty days.
We collect only what a working design studio needs: the name, email address, brand, budget band, and project notes you write into the commission form; correspondence you send us; and the billing details required to issue invoices. Payment card numbers never reach our servers — card data is captured and encrypted by our payment processor, Stripe, under its own published policies.
We process this data to answer your enquiry (pre-contractual steps), to deliver contracted design work, to keep accounting records required by French law, and, where you have agreed, to send occasional studio notes. The legal bases are Article 6(1)(a), (b), (c) and (f) of the GDPR. Enquiry records are retained for twenty-four months; client contracts and invoices are kept for ten years, as fiscal legislation requires.
Recipients are limited to our EU-hosted hosting and email providers, our accountant, and Stripe. We sell nothing, rent nothing, and share nothing for advertising. Under the GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection, and you may complain to the CNIL at any time. Write to [email protected] and we will act on your request without ceremony.
These terms govern every engagement between DesignBitNet and its clients. A project begins when you accept a written proposal that states scope, price, and schedule; that proposal, together with these terms, is the entire agreement between us.
Fees are quoted in US dollars or euros excluding VAT. A fifty percent deposit reserves your place in the studio calendar and is invoiced at signature; the balance falls due before final handoff, payable within fourteen days. Overdue balances pause active work and accrue interest at the statutory French rate. Deposits and instalments are settled through our secure payment portal.
You agree to supply copy, assets, and feedback on the dates we agree in the schedule; delayed feedback moves the delivery date by an equivalent margin. Each milestone includes two rounds of revision; further rounds are billed at the studio day rate. Upon receipt of final payment, all intellectual property in the client-specific design files transfers to you outright. We retain the right to display the work in our portfolio unless a confidentiality agreement says otherwise.
We warrant that delivered work will perform as specified in modern evergreen browsers for thirty days after handoff, and we will correct genuine defects free of charge. Beyond that window, work proceeds on an as-agreed basis. Our liability under any engagement is capped at the fees actually paid for that engagement. Either party may end an engagement with seven days' written notice; work completed to that date remains payable. These terms are governed by French law, and disputes fall to the competent courts of Paris.
Cookies are small files a site asks your browser to keep. This site keeps very few, and none of them follow you across the internet. We would rather earn the visit than track it.
Strictly necessary storage. When you press Accept on the cookie notice, we write a single preference key — cookie_accepted — to your browser's local storage so the notice stops appearing. It holds no identifier, no profile, and no cross-site signal, and clearing your browser data removes it entirely.
Measurement. We use privacy-respecting, IP-anonymised audience counting to learn which pages hold attention and how fast they load for real visitors. These measurements are aggregated, never sold, and never joined to advertising networks. No third-party advertising or social media pixels are set anywhere on this site.
You stay in control. Accepting is optional; the site remains fully readable either way. You can remove our stored preference at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings, and most browsers let you block or delete cookies entirely. Because we rely on local storage rather than tracking cookies, blocking them costs you nothing but the notice reappearing. Questions about this policy are welcome at [email protected].
We would rather fix a problem than keep money that has stopped buying anything. If an engagement is not serving you, write to [email protected] and we will settle it fairly and quickly.
Deposits. The fifty percent deposit secures your dates in the studio calendar and covers discovery, scheduling, and the first design session. Once those stages are under way, the deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel before work begins, the deposit is returned in full minus any payment processing fees already incurred.
Milestone work. If you cancel a project midway, we refund fees for milestones not yet started, and deliver everything produced for milestones already paid. Work completed is licensed to you on payment; unfinished work is not handed over and its cost is not charged.
Retainers and delays. Monthly design retainers can be cancelled at any time before the next cycle is charged; already-billed cycles are not refunded, and unused hours roll forward for thirty days. If we miss an agreed delivery date by more than fourteen days for reasons within our control, you may cancel and receive a full refund of every amount paid for that engagement.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within ten business days; settle invoices securely through our payment portal, and a receipt accompanies every refund. Digital deliverables already released — design files, tokens, and documentation — are final sale once accepted. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights under French consumer law.
